Project Summary

The 66,000 SF Center was constructed on an approximate 23 acre undeveloped site located within the boundary of the United States Air Force Academy. HB&A, the architect, won the 2012 AIA Colorado South Merit Award for Un-built Architecture for their work on the project. The project was constructed to achieve at least a Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design Gold rating, fully certified through the U.S. Green Building Council. Sustainability features include geothermal heating and cooling, photovoltaic arrays, solar preheating of ventilation air, daylighting sensors and a state-of-the-art energy management control system.
